Methodology - How We Research and Rank
Data first, prose second
Every casino entry is a structured fact set: ZEC support type, KYC type and trigger threshold, VPN policy, registration model, withdrawal speed, limits, bonuses, wagering, fairness, reputation notes and sources with dates. Reviews are AI-drafted from that fact set only - the model may not invent numbers, limits or history. Drafts are fact-checked against the database before publication, and every fact row carries a verification date.
Where facts come from
Operator pages fetched live: deposit and withdrawal documentation, terms of use, fee tables, fairness pages and license registers where reachable. Independent leads from community directories and review roundups (CryptoSlate, LCB) are marked as leads - never treated as proof. Watchdog research (including our own monerogambler meta-reviews and the Zcash community forum) covers complaint patterns and operator history. Quality is flagged per casino: verified, reported or unverified. Unverified facts are labeled in reviews, never presented as confirmed.
Scoring
Scores are computed deterministically from the documented fact set (see the rubric below) - unknown facts never count positively, and evaluative claims without a dated source are not facts. ZEC-native micro sites are scored within their own lane - a two-game dice site cannot "lose" for game count against an 8,000-game casino; it is rated on what it is. Payout speed is deliberately not scored: we run no measurements, so no speed score exists to fake. User ratings are shown separately, smoothed with a statistical prior, and never mixed into editorial scores.
The score rubric
Scores are computed deterministically from the documented fact set - unknown facts never count positively. The total is the weighted average of the scored dimensions (an unscored dimension drops out of the weighting, it never counts as 0).
privacy (weight 22%)
- documented ZEC support depth
- documented shielded payouts
- VPN policy
- own Tor onion service
- KYC model
safety (weight 20%)
- license claimed by operator
- operator identity confidence
- fact set verified this cycle
- status flag (watch/dead/scam)
- documented red flags
speed (weight 16%)
- not scored - we run no payout measurements, so this dimension stays out of the total
games (weight 14%)
- documented game count
- documented game categories (when no count)
- provably fair originals
bonus (weight 10%)
- documented bonus reality (no bonus is neutral, unclear terms score low)
- wager-free / release-by-play terms
- ongoing cashback
fairness (weight 8%)
- provably fair + documented scheme
- documented house edge
ux (weight 10%)
- registration model
- daily reachability check
Editorial reviews
Since October 2026 the reviews on this site are written and fact-checked by hand ("curated reviews"). Every factual sentence cites its source with a footnote; every number traces to the operator's documentation or a quoted source; where we could not verify something, the review says so instead of guessing. The AI-draft pipeline never overwrites a curated review, and re-verification of curated facts is manual by design.
Freshness
Availability of ZEC support changes fast. We run daily reachability checks on every listed domain and regenerate reviews on a weekly cycle (plus on-demand whenever facts change). Every review shows its version, generation date and fact-verification date.
Independence
Commercial relationships never influence scores, ranks or scam listings. Operators can submit factual corrections with sources via contact; we verify and correct within 7 days. We do not remove scam or dead listings in exchange for anything.
